angel-pink

Peace is in your arms

Username: When I first saw it, I half expected a really girly pinky design… So I can’t say it was particularly appealing to me. It sounds a little young and a little too, ‘girly girl’ for my taste, but there isn’t anything hugely wrong with it, it just isn’t to my taste. (3/5)

Title: I have a feeling it came with the template (do tell me if I’m wrong) but it sounds nice. I do like it, and it is very sweet (almost endearing). It was simple, and it does go with the template – though perhaps not with your actual entries. (4/5)

First Sight: I was definitely relieved that it wasn’t pink. The green is actually quite nice, and it all looks very relaxing (which I think is the idea of the template). The navigation is quite clear, there is a little bit of information about you to the left side – It all seems okay. The crayon box thing got on my nerves – but other then that, first impressions were pretty good… I did like the choice of template and was looking forward to reading it. Although it was a tad annoying that so much space was wasted on the left hand side and that just meant more scrolling for me as it made the diary entry go down further – but hey that is just my lazy nature. (7/10)

Your Sacrifice: Not everyday, quite a few skips… not overly organised. It really does help to have a pattern to when you update – not just when you feel like you can spare the time… But it wasn’t too bad. (6/8)

Sparkling Diamond: Credit for the design goes to Diva Designs . It’s a fairly nice layout, and I like the colour scheme. The navigation is all to the left hand side and is very organised, along with a short description of yourself. It does seem to be a very peaceful, calming sort of design, which is nice, and certainly a change from the loud clashing designs I seem to be coming across. As mentioned before, I’m not sure I like the amount of scrolling necessary, because if the template just used all the space then it wouldn’t need to scroll down nearly as much… But that isn’t exactly your fault. The imood and Crayon box icons look out of place, your template is all green – and relaxing – then there are bright flashing colours and I’m not sure if I’m all that keen. Generally it is a nice layout – I’m just not sure if it suits your diary entries. Did you just pick this design because you liked it? Was there any other reason? (19/25)

Guestbook: Same type of colour ideas, is seems simple yet looks smart. Seems to be in working order, so can’t complain too much. ( I’m not deducting points for this, but I’m not keen on the title for your Guestbook page) (2/2)

Readability: All very clear. Good font size, colour and face. No straining my eyes tonight! (5/5)

The Love: Sometimes your diary is a little bit of a day-log, but not always and you tend to balance it with thoughts and feelings – which is always a good thing. Some of your entries baffle me and they don’t seem to fit in with the rest of your typical entries – but it is well within your own right to be as random as you like.

I have to say I was a little bit dubious as to whether I’d enjoy your diary because you are quite a bit younger then me, so I didn’t see exactly how I could relate to you – but as I started going through your entries, I did enjoy quite a few of them, and liked the way you expressed what you were thinking.

You do have quite a few emotional entries, which really show a deep insight to what you are thinking and how you feel about your past, and I was sorry to hear about your problems with you Dad. I did like how you talked about it all in this entry.

How you’re feeling does tend to change from entry to entry, and I can never be quite sure what to expect to hear on the next page – one minute you’re bored, the next you are having fun… there doesn’t seem to be a particular pattern to it all – but hey that is how life is I suppose so it’s not like I’m being completely negative here!

One thing I really didn’t like was the constant ‘please sign my notes/book’… This is a known pet peeve of mine, It’s not that everyone doesn’t want some recognition for their diary, if you truly wanted it to be private you wouldn’t keep it online or you’d at least lock it. There is however, a difference between not minding people reading your diary – and then just trying to get attention for your entries. Keeping asking for people to leave you a message implies that you may just be writing things for the feedback you are going to get.

On the whole, I do like your diary – but I’m left thinking, well I wonder if that really happened just like that, you seem to make things appear a little dramatic – and it comes back to the attention factor? I could be completely wrong, I mean I don’t know you as a person… Just try and sit back and enjoy having your diary for yourself as opposed to having it so somebody else can read it. Sometimes people only skim read anyway so it isn’t worth wasting your time for people who may or may not even get a chance to see it.

Right, I don’t mean to be so negative and it’s time to talk a bit more about specific entries I was keen on I think! Despite you saying you thought it was corny, I thought this was a lovely entry. It was short, simple and I could definitely relate to it. I’ve had quite a few dogs in the past (though I have none now) and it was nice to see somebody who genuinely cares for their pet. I loved those types of entries where you just seemed to say what you were thinking at the time – and don’t worry too much about what other people say or think, everybody loves their pets (or at least they should!) and you certainly prove that to be true in the best possible way.

What I was keen on in your diary is you had some really reflective, and thought provoking entries – which I wasn’t expecting. Like this one for example. It made a nice change from day-logs, and certainly expressed your opinion very clearly. It’s good that you are so opinionated and that you have such a unique view on everything. Although it tended to be a little bit more negative in that entry, it still held true – and didn’t offend anyone too much I don’t think!!

Last entry I’m going to mention (promise, I won’t go on forever!) was this one. You said you were thinking about the past, and couldn’t remember happy memories from the last school year. You seemed genuinely concerned about it all and it was a sad read. I was left hoping things got better for you, as you seem so convinced that it won’t. I really didn’t know what to say about it all – I mean you said you thought it was self-pity but everyone has moments like that, just try not to let them bring you down too much.

You say you want to love in America, which I wish you all the best in achieving your goal ( I have similar thoughts on the matter, though for completely different reasons no doubt!). Try not to be in such a rush to leave though, I know first-hand it isn’t always easier on your own, you don’t seem to be in such an awful situation as it is right now. Anyway, overall your diary was interesting and did keep me reading. I did skim read a few, but then again – few people can say they read every single word another person has written. Your diary has a nice quality and I’d be interested to see how it developed – and how things come to pass if you ever do get to America (though obviously that is quite a bit in the future so I wouldn’t see that anytime soon!!) My only word of advice is to not write for someone else as it did seem that way at times, and definitely stop asking for people to sign your notes!!! (38/50)

Grammar: You use slang quite a bit, but otherwise most of your writing seems okay, the occasional spelling mistake – but that happens to everyone. (6/10)

Glitter: Lots of nice extras all on a separate page so no cluttered up template which is a bonus. To name a few of what is included – there is a Cast, 101, Rings, Quizzes… Plenty to have a nosey at. Seems good and like you’ve made a big effort which is always nice to see. You have an unusual extra about your funeral – which seems a little morbid, but hey it is your choice what to include. The pictures were a nice touch. (14/15)

Extra Credit: Your extras must of taken you forever to sort and build up – it really seems like you made an effort… hence extra points. (2/5)

Lasting Impression: Hmm, yeah mostly positive thoughts after reading your diary. It was quite fun, mixed in with quite a lot of emotion. I’ll keep it in mind. (7/10)

Will I Come Back?: I will pop by, not daily – but probably weekly to see how you’re getting by. (7/10)

Total: 120/160

Number of Entries Read: Most of them – skim-read a few, but not too many.

Favorite Entry: I liked this one just because it seemed like a hard day for you, and you came through it – and you really showed what you thought about everything which was nice.

Favorite Quote: “We’re killing each other and ruining our planet, why do we insist on doing it? However we’re not doomed just yet, I believe that if we all worked together we stand a chance”

Comments: I did enjoy reading your diary and I do hope you keep it up, it’s probably the age difference that sometimes made it harder to relate to you. However you expressed yourself clearly while still showing emotions which was a lovely combination – just stop keeping on for attention – I think you’ll get better responses if you stop asking for them.
