Gump's Hood

Username: Gump hood reminds me of Forest Gump in the Ghetto. Funny shit. Other than that it really does say a lot about you. With just two simple words your creativeness, personality and unpredictability shine through. That is the feel I get from your diary and who you are just by looking and not reading. I think Gump is your alter ego, the true you that you let out of the cage only every so often. When you think about it, that's what a diary is for, to let your guard down and just be you. That's my first thought when seeing your name. I haven't started reading yet so we'll see if I'm correct. (5/5)

Title: I was a little disappointed here. Gump's Hood is like a huge exclamation mark to your diary. It emphasizes your name and reminds us where we are and who we're reading which is good. I was just hoping for a bit more creativity. I'm gonna give you full marks though cause it has meaning which I discovered later on. (5/5)

First Sight: Blue, I'm happy already. The craziness of your layout compliments the craziness of your name. I can also tell from the little bits I've read so far that it also fits your personality which is all that's really important. I usually don't like all the clutter but in this case I will let it slide because a simple straight forward layout would look out of place for you. (10/10)

Your Sacrifice: Even with skips scattered here and there I consider you to be quite dedicated. Multiples through out make up for those few forgotten days. I would suggest archiving though, your page requires a lot of scrolling. I would even archive your series entries separate. Just a suggestion. (7/8)

Sparkling Diamond: The layout, as I said, not my personal fave but it's you. The totem pole at the left hand side doesn't appear until you scroll down a bit. I do like that it's blue, that's no surprise. Navigation is simple with your before and after links at the top and bottom and a drop down menu, love it. But, the selected text color clashes with the rest of the layout. Yes, I'm being picky. I had to mention it though cause it was one of the first things I noticed. It's a long layout with extras continuing past the text box. It doesn't bother me too much though. (20/25)

Guestbook: It's a standard and doesn't match but some how that doesn't surprise me. *wink*(1/2)

Readability: Yup, don't need my specs for this. (5/5)

The Love: Right off the bat your first entry is clear, direct and different. I haven't yet seen anyone state what they hope to accomplish with their diary. After that though it seemed to take a few entries for you to get comfortable infront of the cam, so to speak. In the beginning you talked about things and people without explaining and I was left wondering what hole you pulled them out from. Who was getting married in this? Ah, the answer next entry. Keeping the suspense alive, good way to attract and catch readers.Moving on now...

I love your Dancing is like the sun; it's Catholic entry. I'm a thinker too, sometimes too much. I love metaphors and this has some really expressive ones. This, clever. I actually tried to see if there was some sort of message hidden within. Please let me know if there is and what it is.

The way you describe things in such detail is amazing. When reading through I often found myself stopping and thinking, visualizing what you were talking about which was easy cause of your descriptions. This is absolutely priceless. I laughed for a good 10 minutes picturing those around me making those poses in public. The way you wrote it, so serious as though it was an instruction manual yet light hearted with tongue in cheek. Love it. Inspiring. Such a thought provoking entry. It shows that along with your creative, sarcastic, funny, clever side you also have the ability to think deep, be analytical and very honest too.

I was somewhat correct. Gump keeps you in check. This gave insight to where the name originated. I agree, it is very much who you are.

The Birth, Dreams and Love series are fantastic although I did not read them all, they are wonderful and exceptionally well written. The love series especially, the images so beautiful. I could honestly go on and on here but I need to stop. (50/50)

Grammar: "Nightmare category: spelling" and you are correct. At least you admit it and don't act dumb and say "who me? nah... it was a typo." I've also noticed missed apostrophes here and there. It makes me wonder why you don't invest in a spell checker? (6/10)

Glitter: There's lots going on and lots to see/do. Photos, surveys, extras, rings, cast (which by the way is very unique), guestmap, Imood. link of the day as well as other cool links. Not to mention different polls on different pages as well as some entries include images, very cool and very interesting. I'm also including your profile in this cause I like the image as well as the quote and def'n. (15/15)

Extra Credit: In all honesty, I think perhaps you have forgotten you requested this review it's been so long but I will give you credit for being so patient with me. I truly appreciate it. I'll also give you one for creating your own button too. (4/5)

Lasting Impression: I will undoubtedly remember your diary. (10/10)

Will I Come Back?: Yes, I'd like to add you too. I'll be coming back to read the entries I had to force myself to skip so I could get this review done.(10/10)

Total: 148/160

Number of Entries Read: 45 I may not have read that many entries but for the most part you write quality entries with lots of emotion and depth. So it seemed like I read much more than that. It also didn't take too many to see that this is one of the best.

Favorite Entry: This is interesting to me, seeing how an American views us. It's true though, our money is Monopoly money with the Queen of England on it *wink* and we do have too many coins to count. I really have too many faves to mention here. Most of the links in The Love section were faves as well as many many others.

Favorite Quote: God isn’t a genie. The genie is a guy who gives you three wishes. Why? Because you blow the first one; try to better on the second one; and then finally fail seeing that you were better before and then the third wish to put everything back to normal. A genie teaches you something about yourself. God doesn’t. If I were ever a genie I would be the genie of two wishes.

God is the wishing well. Throw your money. Make a wish. Expect nothing. There will be no response.

Comments: I never once got the feeling that you were writing for other people. You write purely for yourself even if you begin a few entries with "Hello Humans." You write honest, entertaining and meaningful entries. With every one that I read you made it clear who and what you are. You hide nothing and I love that. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
