Jessica Welch: A Grape Juice Millionaire… only not really.

Username: Sounds sort of pretty. Is it a misspelling of Sequin, or is the extra ‘n’ there instead of ‘and’…? Either way I’m not too fussed. It sounds quite nice, looks alright… Might actually entice me into clicking on your name. (4/5)

Title: Don’t like it, sorry… Holds no appeal for me… However it is original, and at least it is trying to be imaginative. I recommend you perhaps change it to a nice quote, or a line from a song you like… something a bit more – personal yet interesting. (2/5)

First Sight: I like the colours of it. Seems kind of dismal, yet had a nice idea to it. It is a bit dark in the sense that I don’t think it will appeal to a huge number of people – just because it doesn’t catch your eye. On initial glance, nothing jumps out at you. But – I like dark designs, and I like this one. It didn’t look cluttered, it seemed relatively organised. First impression I was pretty happy. But I did scowl at the diary entry box… you have so much space – but it’s all cramped up! I can see that getting on my nerves!! (7/10)

Your Sacrifice: Okay, well there is no Archive Page. I did speak to you about this though, and you said you couldn’t fix it up. So, I can’t really say how often you update, aside from making a note of the date on the top of every single entry. It seems to be okay, not daily – but okay… But I strongly suggest you get an Archive Page sorted…(I’ll try and explain in the comments section) (4/8)

Sparkling Diamond: Okay… so design credit goes to Reject Gurlie . I’m partial to darker layouts, and I miss my own terribly – so it was a good start to see the black-ish background mixed with the grey. I don’t like the small entry box. Okay so it’s not tiny tiny annoying – but, still – look how much space there is left on the page, and this design confines you to one small part of it. Basically, yes I’m lazy – and I don’t like scrolling unless I really have to. Basically with this design I’m needlessly scrolling. Okay, so that was a bit of a rant, otherwise it’s fine, again with the scrolling for the links… Some of your links also have funny names, and weird spellings… it was a tad annoying… but colour wise it’s nice, organization is nice… Navigation all to the right hand side. It definitely isn’t cluttered, but it does well not looking too plain either as it has all the detail in the background. (20/25)

Guestbook: Did I miss one? I couldn’t see one at all. (0/2)

Readability: Your links aren’t very clear as they are all in the tiny box, but for the most part everything is fine. The grey colour of the font doesn’t really stand out – but it compliments the overall design just fine. (4/5)

The Love: Okay, so I had to read backwards which isn’t my favourite thing to do, but I’m not going to go on about it. I worried that I might have some big plot-spoilers by reading the results before the events, but it wasn’t too bad.

Your entries don’t seem to link together for the most part. You jump from emotion to emotion each entry, one minute you want depression – the next you’re in love. You tend to sound like you’re telling a story, which is fine – most of the time.

Your diary, for the most part is in a relaxed tone – nothing too stressful about reading it and it’s quite easy to just read the entries without really having a huge headache to understand them.

This entry made me wonder if you were completely sane... CTL ALT DEL eh? Well whatever floats your boat or so they say. It seemed a bit random and if it was an actual notebook, I’d picture it to be hanging together by a very thing piece of string. It’s not as negative as it sounds - you just come across as quite... well dippy at times!

In your less serious entries, you do tend to day-log quite a bit. Entries like this made you sound quite young in terms of your writing style, but it was a nice change to see someone who looked happy at least some of the time! Your writing style didn’t overly bother me, as I said, you sound like you - meaning, your personality is very hard to miss. I’m not sure it goes with the template. I seem to like both your personality, and your template - I just can’t see them together... but anyway on with the content review...

It’s bizarre because anyone reading this review so far would have you as a bubbly happy type of person... but on the very next click of the previous button - you’re depressed. Here you seem really down, and I have a hard time understanding everything just because it is always changing. I liked that your emotional entries were moving, your silly entries were funny... and your serious ones were well written - You just seem to have too many personalities to keep up with. I suppose the fact you change so dramatically is proven when you see this entry… What with you being grumpy and optimistic Carebear… Heh.

You don’t seem to limit yourself in your entries, and describe everything in a lot of detail with thoughts/feelings - just about everything somebody could enjoy reading. And I’m sorry about all the hassle you had with your dog, (not wanting to punish it etc) in this entry.

All in all, your diary does seem quite nice, I like that you come out with random comments, and it’s nice to see such a good balance of emotions. My main problem is I didn’t relate to you, and I didn’t feel compelled to continue. While I’m reading the entries I’m fine, but once they’re over I’m left thinking… Ok, What’s next… But I honestly don’t know what to suggest to you. You sounded quite young in a few entries – Did I miss an entry with your age in? I’m guessing around 15/16? But I honestly don’t know. Apologies if I did miss that, sometimes it’s hard to keep all the information from a diary in mind. Hope you keep up your diary, it was a pleasant read (most of the time!) (38/50)

Grammar: Mistakes here and there. Typos, etc. Not too bad. (7/10)

Glitter: Okay it’s a bit empty. You have links to other sites down in your navigation (Fave band etc) but… nothing else. Oh, except a link to email you and then to get to the notes… You do have a few quizzes pages, but nobody would know about them unless they went quite far back… Perhaps make a link for them on your main page? However not having many extras is a good thing in a way it means that you have your diary for exactly that reason – to keep a diary, not to fuss about writing a cast, 101 facts… But if you’re submitting it to be reviewed you really need a bit more. Definitely make a Bio, and add some other pages… It will make your diary more appealing to readers. (4/15)

Extra Credit: You got back to me really efficiently in regards to the Archive note I left you, and were really polite about it all… Basically that translates to – you seem like a nice person who makes an effort and isn’t trying to be difficult so I’m giving you extra credit. (2/5)

Lasting Impression: I don’t think there was enough to make me remember it. The problem simply was that there were no nice extras there, there wasn’t anything that caught my eye. It all blended in together very well, and despite it being a pleasant read you really really need to add more. (5/10)

Will I Come Back?: Yes actually – but only to see if you have some more additions… 101, Bio, Cast… I’d be interested to see how they look and turn out. So it is sort of for the wrong reasons. (6/10)

Total: 103/160

Number of Entries Read: I’m presuming all of them, I kept going through them backwards until I came to an entry (Written on April 14th) talking about getting this new diary but already having a journal somewhere else – when I clicked on previous on that entry it took me to the most recent one… Apologies if I missed some…

Favorite Entry: This one.

Favorite Quote: “Things truly aren't forever, no matter what.”

Comments: Okay, first things first, Your lack of archive page and updates brought your score down the most… as well as the lack of extras. I would seriously spend a good hour or two revamping your design and layout, then request a re-review… if not with this site, at least with another. Your diary deserves a much higher score, but you really need to fix those little things before you’ll get it.

In regards to an Archive Page… go to Change your template, go to change older.html, look in the box for the body tag … < BODY >… anywhere after that, but before < /BODY > put in %%older_entries%% . Then go to Change your template, go to change how each of your entries look. By your other links just copy and paste this…< a href="http://sequinnrose.diaryland.com/older.html" > Archives < /a > … Only get rid of the spaces by the < >’s. Hope it works for you.
