From the Diary of a New York Lady

Username: At first I thought your name was Sydney but it's actually Sarah. And I don't know what those numbers mean either. (3/5)

Title: This is better. Tells me something about you right away and sounds chic. (5/5)

First Sight: Gorgeous display of flowers and love the color you use for entries. (10/10)

Your Sacrifice: I like the way Diary-x lets you archive : shows you all the titles but can separate into months and year. You're pretty good at updating too. (7/8)

Sparkling Diamond: At first I thought this was made by you because you have a link to influenced but then I saw the design link to Not That Ugly and so I knew it wasn't your own. But I still love it. The picture of the flower is so beautiful, elegant and exquisite: so vivid and wonderful colors and you can see the cup it's in too. It matches perfectly with the background and written word, but I don't really like how the links are a bit red. Plus, the word delicate is written nicely in a font that portrays it well. Only thing is the navigation links at the bottom seem too small [guess it needed to be for all the links to fit on one line?] I think it'd be easier if the before/next links are on the entry. But it's such a great layout. (24/25)

Guestbook: Pink and blue scroll bars? Don't like the color combo. (2/2)

Readability: Perfect. (5/5)

The Love: I was quite happy and impressed with what you had to say on your first entry because a lot of first entries are short, just saying "this is my new diary. I have nothing to say.. blah blah blah." Not the case with you. And I liked reading about you. It's a great introduction. I like the nickname your dad thought up for you, Sweets! I also liked the next entry where you listed books you like and why they appeal to you. In my bio, I have all the books that are my favorites, but I haven't written too much about each one so maybe I will someday. Anyway, you did a fine job describing the books.

It seems like you're always writing about how you're a bad, bad diarist. It's okay. I think what's more important is the depth and breadth of the entry itself, not neccessarily that you have to update every day or a certain amount of times a week. Even though in this entry you claim to be ranting incoherently, I could make sense of it and it was quite funny. You did a good job describing the pencil tapping thing and I like it when you go into more detail about what happens. You have a great style of writing. It's sophisticated, complex, mature, yet the average person can still understand it without having to use a dictionary or other means of help. You're witty too, exaggerate sometimes as well which makes it all the more amusing but I don't agree completely with your views on children. Then sometimes, you write Other Stuff after you're done with whatever the topic is for the main part of the entry and underneath that name, you detail more about your life or TV shows that are perplexing you. It's a good way to separate writings. Anyway, it's great that you came up with this about updates and I think I'm going to start doing that too.

This is an example of your detailed-ness about something. You wrote about church and the people who go there.. It was delightful to read. Like something out of a novel, an extremely engaging, fashionable one.

So, Princeton is the one for you. But wow, it seems like everyone looks down about New Jersey. I guess, maybe since you're from Manhattan, it does seem that Jersey isn't quite as sophisticated and maybe you see it as primitive or whatever, but Princeton is not a bad town. I hate how everyone snubs their noses at New Jersey.

I enjoyed getting into your life and reading about life in the city. It really felt like I learned loads about you [You're definitely a strong, independent, sharp, chic person] and a bunch about New York City too and the art of living there. And I love that you read so many books. Oh wow, of course you were a part of the blackout. It was wonderful to read from the perspective of someone who was actually there, I know I would have the same feelings if I were there but you did a breathaking job describing it. Really made me experience it and think more about all the people involved.

You should definitely write your own novel, not just fan fiction. (54/50)

Grammar: It's time, should be without apostrophe. sited in this context is actually cited right? Otherwise, you're fine. (10/10)

Glitter: Bio, cast, extras: books, disclaimer, fiction archive, frequently asked questions, old templates [The cat layout doesn't show up though], 100 things, quotes [wow, a whole bunch of them!], review sites, Sarah is... [You got much more than me], searches, weather pixie and websites you frequen, plus a quote prompt link on the template. (15/15)

Extra Credit: One for that layout picture, one more for all the lovely quotes, and one because you're wicked cool. (3/5)

Lasting Impression: Most definitely. (10/10)

Will I Come Back?: Every once in awhile. (9/10)

Total: 157/160

Number of Entries Read: All of 2002 [Yea, I know there are only 5 entries there..] and 50 others.

Favorite Entry: I liked many, but this and this was good. And the one about the wedding. Also, this was written exceptionally well.

Favorite Quote: I like things polished. But I don’t waste a lot of time on it. I don’t parade around like one of those stereotypical Long Island Lolitas with three inch claws for fingernails and foundation and powder caked on so thickly that it cracks whenever the person attempts a facial expression. I don’t shriek with horror if I break a nail. I simply file it and move on. So, after much pondering, I’ve come to the conclusion that I am not high maintenance.

Comments: All I needed to say is in this review. And welcome to Fame page!
